Real Madrid Club de Fútbol, commonly known by the name of Real Madrid alone, is a professional football club based in the city of Madrid, Spain. Founded on March 6, 1902 with the name of the Madrid Club de Fútbol, the team used the title Real ("of the kingdom") after King Alfonso XIII of Spain gave official permission to the club in June 1920. Real Madrid has played in the Spanish League First Division (Primera División) known as La Liga since the beginning of this competition began, in 1928, and is the most successful club in Spanish based on the number of trophies they have achieved. History of Real Madrid C.F.Beginning Real Madrid started when football was introduced to Madrid by the academics and students of Institución libre de Ensenanza which includes several graduate of Oxford University and Cambridge University. They founded Football Club Sky in 1897 which then often play football regularly on Sunday mornings at Moncloa. The club was later split into two in 1900, namely: New Foot-Ball de Madrid and Club Español de Madrid. Last club split again in 1902, which later resulted in the formation of Madrid Football Club on 6 March 1902.
Three years after its foundation, in 1905, Madrid FC win first title after defeating
Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey final. The club was a founding member of the Royal Spanish Football Federation on 4 January 1909 when club president Adolfo Meléndez signed the basic agreement for the establishment of the Football Association of the Kingdom of Spain. With some reason, this club then moved to the Campo de O'Donnell in 1912. In 1920, the club's name was changed to Real Madrid after Alfonso XIII of Spain to allow the club to use the word Real-meaning kingdom to this club.
In 1929, the Spanish league was founded. Real Madrid led the first league season until the last match, but it was a surprise when they were defeated by Athletic Bilbao's lead title is almost certainly won, won by Barcelona. Pérez continued with the tradition of signing star players to buy Kaká from AC Milan. and then purchasing Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United's record-breaking transfer at a price of 80 million pounds sterling. Under the controversial coach of Portugal, Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid won the La Liga title for the 32nd time in the 2011-12 season.
